Getting started

Sign up, follow the short setup wizard, and you can be answering customers in a few minutes. Every new workspace starts with a 7-day free trial of all Sonny Pro features — no credit card needed.

The setup wizard

When you sign up, Sonny walks you through five quick steps.

    Create your workspace

    Enter your Company name, choose the Timezone where your team works, then select Create workspace. The timezone is used for office hours.

  2. 02

    Choose your first channel

    A channel is a place customers reach you, such as support email or live chat. Under Create your first channel, select Get started. Or select Skip for now and add a channel later from Channels.

  3. 03

    Configure your channel

    Enter a Channel name, such as Support, and check the Email address (auto-generated). Turn on Connect a website and enter the Domain when you also want live chat. Select Create channel.

  4. 04

    Invite your team

    Enter each teammate's Email and choose their Role. Use Add another for more people, then select Send invites & continue. Or select Skip and invite teammates later from Settings and Users.

    Try it out

    Select Send test email, send the prepared message from your email app, then select Open inbox to watch it arrive. You can select Skip when you want to test later.

Running more than one business?

You have two ways to keep businesses apart, and you can mix them.

  • Channels keep several brands in one inbox. Each channel has its own widget, email address, branding, knowledge base and help center, and teammates can be limited to specific channels. Best when the same team answers for every brand.
  • Workspaces are fully separate: their own inbox, channels, team, contacts, knowledge and billing. People invited to one workspace never see another. Best for agencies whose clients need their own admins and must not know about each other.

To add a workspace, open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and select Create workspace. The same short wizard runs again, and you switch between workspaces from that menu. Lifetime plans cover every workspace you own; otherwise each workspace starts its own trial and plan.
