Feature overview and guide

Live

See who is on your connected websites right now, understand what they are looking at, and start a helpful conversation before they need to ask.

Open Live

  1. 1

Find the visitor status at the bottom of the desktop sidebar. It reads “No visitors online” or shows the current number online.

  2. 2

Select the status to open Live. On mobile, the visitor count appears in the menu whenever someone is online.

  3. 3

Visitors appear when they open a page with your chat widget installed. No chat needs to be open first.

Read the summary cards

On your site now
Pageviews · 24h
Chats started · 24h
Emails received · 24h

The first card is a live count. The other three summarize the last 24 hours. When you filter to one channel, the live count changes to On this channel now, while the 24-hour totals remain for all channels.

Understand the dashboard

Visitor map

Each dot represents someone browsing now. Amber means Known and emerald means Anonymous. Select a dot to see location, time on site, current page, recent journey, tags, and available actions.

Happening now

Follow landings, page changes, identification, new conversations, and departures as they happen.

Everyone online

Use the accessible list to see the same visitors with their location, device, current page, referring site, returning status, tags, and conversation action.

Top pages · 24h

See which paths received the most views during the last 24 hours. This is useful even when nobody is browsing at this moment.

Filter by channel

If more than one connected website exists, use All channels at the top of Live or select a card under Channels. The map, Happening now feed, and Everyone online list follow the filter. Select the same card again, choose All channels, or select Show all channels to clear it.

Start or continue a conversation

For someone without a conversation, select 👋 Say hi. Edit the friendly greeting if needed, then select Say hi 👋. This starts a conversation and opens the chat on the visitor's screen.

If the visitor already has a conversation, select Open chat from Everyone online or Open conversation from their map card. Known contacts may also offer View contact.

Troubleshoot an empty Live page

  • If no website is connected, open Channels, add or select the channel, and follow the widget setup guide.
  • If a visitor should be visible, confirm the widget loads on the page they opened and switch the Live filter back to All channels.
  • A visitor with an unknown location still appears in Everyone online and is included in the live count, even without a map dot.
  • Known means Sonny has a name or email for the visitor. Anonymous means that identity has not been provided yet; the visitor can still appear with their approximate location and page activity.

Common scenarios

Help someone on a high-intent page

A visitor is viewing pricing and has no conversation. Select Say hi, tailor the greeting to their question, and start a chat before they leave.

Continue an existing conversation

A known customer is browsing while a conversation is already open. Select Open chat from the list or Open conversation from the map to continue in the Inbox.

Compare several websites

Use the Channels cards to see who is online on each connected website. Select a card to focus the map, activity feed, and visitor list on that channel.
