Guide
Notifications
Sonny tells you when customers need you — in the app, by email, and with push notifications. You decide exactly what you hear about.
Three ways to hear about it
In-app
The bell in the top bar shows everything as it happens, with an unread count. Click a notification to jump straight to the conversation.
Get an email when something needs you — handy when you're not looking at Sonny. You choose which events send email.
Push
Real notifications on your phone or computer, even when Sonny isn't open. Works best with the installed app — see the install guide.
What you can be notified about
Five events, each with its own email and push switch.
New unassigned conversation
A new conversation arrives and nobody owns it yet.
Conversation assigned to me
A conversation is given to you.
New message
A new message arrives in a conversation assigned to you.
Mentions
A teammate @-mentions you in an internal note.
Trial expiring
Reminders before your free trial ends.
Workspace owners also get automatic alerts about AI usage (at 80% and 100% of the monthly allowance) — no setup needed.
Choosing your notifications
Open your profile settings
Go to Settings > Profile. Scroll to the notification preferences section.
Pick what you hear about
Each event has two switches: one for email, one for push. Everything starts switched on — turn off what you don't need.
Turn on push for this device
Use the "Push notifications on this device" toggle and allow notifications when your browser asks. Push is per device, so do this once on each phone or computer you use.
Blocked notifications by accident? If you denied the browser prompt, you'll need to allow notifications for Sonny in your browser's settings, then flip the toggle again.
